Contact messages

Contact-form submissions are processed by FormSubmit and delivered to Brian Larson’s contact inbox. The form may collect your name, email address, organization, reason for reaching out, and message. This information is used to review and respond to your inquiry. Sending a message does not subscribe you to the newsletter.

Newsletter subscriptions

Newsletter subscriptions are handled by Substack according to its terms and privacy practices. You can unsubscribe using the link in a newsletter email.

Optional website analytics

If you choose to accept analytics, this website uses Google Analytics 4 to understand visits, traffic sources, page engagement, and clicks to book retailers, newsletters, and podcast platforms. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar identifiers and processes information such as the pages you visit, approximate location, browser and device information, and interactions with links. We do not send contact-form messages, names, email addresses, or newsletter subscription details to Google Analytics. We do not use this implementation for advertising personalization or remarketing.

Google Analytics does not load until you accept. You can accept or reject optional analytics when you first visit and change your choice through the Analytics settings button. Your choice applies to this website and is remembered in this browser for 180 days. Rejecting analytics does not prevent you from using the website. If you withdraw consent after accepting, the page reloads to stop the loaded analytics tag and its first-party analytics cookies are removed.

Event and user data retention is set to 14 months; aggregated reports may be retained differently. Analytics cookies are configured to expire after 180 days without extending that period on each visit. We use these reports to understand interest in books and podcast episodes. A retailer click does not confirm a purchase, and a platform click does not confirm a listen or download.
